Will completed his BS in biological engineering at NC State in 2012, with an environmental focus. While there, he designed and studied an upflow filter for phosphate removal from stormwater. He also helped install and monitor several BMPs in urban systems. Will joined the Soil & Water Lab in 2012 to investigate novel methods of nitrogen removal in agricultural runoff. He completed his MS in water resources engineering in 2015.
My Current Research Projects and Interests
Will's PhD work investigates how denitrifying bioreactors treat storm-induced runoff events in agricultural settings. He has also designed several modifications that can increase the application and reduce hydraulic residence time variability. He is currently finishing up the final season of data collection and preparing several publications.
