Research Summary

Modeling of hydrologic processes with an emphasis on soil water calculations in the SWAT model

Background

I am a first year MEng (currently in the process of switching to MS) student in the lab. I just recently graduated from Penn State with a degree in Agricultural (Natural Resource) Engineering. This past summer I worked with the USDA ARS’s Pasture Systems and Watershed Management Research Unit where I conducted research on the SWAT hydrologic model. The tentative plan for my Master’s research is to go further in-depth with the SWAT model and improve the infiltration properties as well as the soil water movement aspects of this model.
